5. Instalacja (konfiguracja)

Installation of brake components requires specialized tools and knowledge. It is strongly recommended that this procedure be performed by a qualified automotive technician.

5.1 Ogólne środki ostrożności

  • Zawsze należy nosić odpowiedni sprzęt ochrony osobistej, obejmujący okulary ochronne i rękawice.
  • Szczegółowe informacje dotyczące momentu dokręcania i procedur można znaleźć w instrukcji serwisowej pojazdu.

5.2 Rotor Rotation Guidance

For rotors with a directional vane design, proper orientation is critical for cooling and performance. The vanes should sweep back towards the rear of the car when installed, unless specified otherwise by the vehicle's manufacturer.

5.3 Kroki instalacji (powyżej)view)

  1. Safely lift and support the vehicle. Remove the wheels.
  2. Remove the brake caliper and caliper bracket. Support the caliper to prevent damage to the brake hose.
  3. Remove the old brake rotor.
  4. Clean the wheel hub surface thoroughly using the provided non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Ensure all rust and debris are removed.
  5. Install the new TRQ performance brake rotor, ensuring correct directional orientation if applicable (refer to Image 5.1).
  6. Reinstall the caliper bracket and caliper. Apply new brake pads if necessary (not included in this kit).
  7. Bleed the brake system if lines were opened, using the provided DOT 3 & 4 brake fluid.
  8. Załóż ponownie koła i opuść pojazd.
  9. Perform a proper brake bedding procedure (refer to Section 6.2).

6. Działanie

6.1 Brake System Function

Brake rotors are a critical component of your vehicle's disc brake system. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure forces the brake calipers to clamp brake pads against the rotating rotors. This friction converts kinetic energy into heat, slowing and stopping the vehicle. The cross-drilled and slotted design of these performance rotors aids in heat dissipation and gas venting, maintaining consistent braking performance.

6.2 Brake Bedding Procedure

After installing new brake rotors and pads (if replaced), a proper bedding-in procedure is essential to optimize performance and longevity. This process transfers an even layer of brake pad material onto the rotor surface, preventing uneven wear and vibrations.

  1. Find a safe, open area where you can accelerate and brake without interruption.
  2. Accelerate to approximately 35 mph (56 km/h) and apply moderate braking pressure to slow down to about 5 mph (8 km/h). Do not come to a complete stop. Repeat this 5-6 times.
  3. Accelerate to approximately 55 mph (88 km/h) and apply firm braking pressure (but not hard enough to activate ABS) to slow down to about 5 mph (8 km/h). Repeat this 2-3 times.
  4. Drive for 10-15 minutes without heavy braking to allow the brakes to cool down. Avoid coming to a complete stop with the brakes applied during this cooling period.

During the bedding process, you may notice a slight burning smell or smoke; this is normal. Avoid hard braking or emergency stops for the first 200-300 miles (320-480 km) after installation to allow the components to fully seat.

7. Konserwacja

Regularna kontrola i konserwacja układu hamulcowego są niezbędne dla bezpieczeństwa i wydajności.

  • Rutynowa kontrola: Inspect brake rotors, pads, calipers, and fluid levels at least twice a year or every 10,000 miles (16,000 km).
  • Rotor Wear: Check for signs of excessive wear, deep grooves, cracks, or warping. Rotors have a minimum thickness specification; consult your vehicle's service manual.
  • Płyn hamulcowy: Ensure brake fluid level is within the recommended range. Brake fluid should be flushed and replaced according to your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations, typically every 2-3 years. Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid as specified.
  • Czyszczenie: Use a non-chlorinated brake cleaner to remove dust and debris from brake components during pad changes or inspections.

8. Rozwiązywanie Problemów

If you experience any issues with your brake system after installation, consider the following common problems and potential solutions:

ObjawMożliwa przyczynaDziałanie
Vibration or Pulsation during BrakingUneven rotor wear, warped rotors, improper bedding, loose wheel lug nuts.Re-check lug nut torque. Perform bedding procedure again. Inspect rotors for runout or damage. Seek professional inspection.
Pisk lub zgrzytanieNew pads/rotors (normal during bedding), worn pads, foreign object, improper installation.Allow for bedding period. Inspect pads for wear indicators. Check for debris between pad and rotor. Ensure proper installation.
Miękki lub gąbczasty pedał hamulcaPowietrze w przewodach hamulcowych, niski poziom płynu hamulcowego, uszkodzony cylinder główny.Check brake fluid level. Bleed the brake system. Seek professional diagnosis.
Vehicle Pulls to One SideUneven brake force, seized caliper, contaminated brake pad.Inspect calipers for proper function. Check for fluid leaks. Seek professional diagnosis.

If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, or if you are unsure about any procedure, consult a certified automotive technician.
