The sensor detects lightning strikes within a 25-mile (40-kilometer) radius. When lightning is detected, the Lightning Strike Indicator will flash, and an audible alarm will sound. The sensor transmits data every 24 seconds under normal conditions, and every 8 seconds once lightning is detected.

Position the sensor well away from the base unit if experiencing frequent false positives.
