4. Konfiguracja

The D-Link DAP-1620 can be set up using two primary methods: Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) or a web przeglądarka.

4.1. Konfiguracja WPS (zalecana)

  1. Plug the DAP-1620 into a power outlet near your existing wireless router. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid green.
  2. Naciśnij przycisk WPS na routerze bezprzewodowym.
  3. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the DAP-1620. The WPS LED on the extender will blink during the connection process.
  4. Once connected, the WPS LED will turn solid green, and the Signal Strength LEDs will illuminate, indicating a successful connection.
  5. Unplug the DAP-1620 and move it to a location halfway between your router and the Wi-Fi "dead zone." Ensure the Signal Strength LEDs show at least two bars for optimal performance.

Note: If your router does not have a WPS button, or if WPS setup fails, proceed with the Web Konfiguracja przeglądarki.

4.2. Web Konfiguracja przeglądarki

  1. Plug the DAP-1620 into a power outlet.
  2. Connect your computer or mobile device to the DAP-1620's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "dlink-XXXX"). The network name and password can be found on the Wi-Fi Configuration Card.
  3. Otwórz web przeglądarka i wprowadź http://dlinkap.local or the IP address (refer to the QIG if dlinkap.local does not work).
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions of the setup wizard to select your existing Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
  5. Configure the extended network's name (SSID) and password. You can choose to use the same as your main network or create new ones.
  6. Once setup is complete, unplug the DAP-1620 and move it to your desired location. Verify the Signal Strength LEDs for optimal placement.

5. Obsługa przedłużacza

The DAP-1620 operates as a Wi-Fi range extender by default, but can also function as an Access Point.

5.1. Wi-Fi Extender Mode

In this mode, the DAP-1620 connects wirelessly to your existing router and rebroadcasts the signal, extending its range. Devices connect to the extended network (either with the same or a different SSID) and access the internet through the extender.

5.2. Tryb punktu dostępowego (AP)

To use the DAP-1620 as an Access Point, connect it to your router using an Ethernet cable via the LAN port. In this mode, the DAP-1620 creates a new Wi-Fi network, converting a wired connection into a wireless one. This is useful for areas with existing Ethernet wiring but no Wi-Fi coverage.

5.3. Optymalne rozmieszczenie

For best performance, place the DAP-1620 in a location where it receives a strong signal from your main router (indicated by at least two or three Signal Strength LEDs) and is also close enough to the areas where you need extended Wi-Fi coverage. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other devices that may cause interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
